Journalism student of the day: Madison Hoag

MADISON HOAG

Junior Yearbook staff member

Madison Hoag joined yearbook at semester and is one of the best writers. She has a knack for writing stories with depth, even for difficult topics.

Hoag’s favorite thing to spend her money on is makeup, while her favorite memory is going on a Disney cruise with her parents and brothers.

“Since it is catered to kids, my parents could go see a show while me and (my brothers) ran around doing whatever,” she wrote. “On the top deck, they had free food, drinks and dessert so my parents never had to worry about us.”

Hoag immediately made an impression in yearbook. She’s quiet but has a delightful personality with a contagious laugh.

She quickly learned yearbook is different than any other class.

“We work through the summer, after school, into the late night, etc.,” Hoag wrote. “ Lots of coffee, tears, stress and food go into what we do.”

Ah, food. Food is a favorite of any journalism student, and that’s shared most on work nights.

The best part of work nights are “all the different people from different backgrounds (who) come together to laugh and have fun,” Hoag wrote.

Her favorite journalism team member is junior Promise Asher.

“She’s hilarious and always upbeat while still being a good leader and writer,” Hoag wrote.
