Panther’s Tale

A group of students at Derby High woke up early Wednesday to write encouraging messages with chalk on the sidewalk where members of the Westboro Baptist Church will be protesting this afternoon.

Messages such as “Love is 4 everyone” and “Love is love” were written on a majority of the sidewalk at the corner of Rock and James.

“The message was that you don’t have to be volatile with how you go about your actions and you can disagree with people, but you can do it in a way that’s not hurtful and disgusting,” junior Michelle Sherrow said.
