While most expected a normal Thursday morning, the 2026 seniors had a different plan. Silly string, confetti, and even water balloons weren’t what most expected to see walking into school.
On May 13, many of the seniors filed into the school at 7 p.m. to perform one of the most infamous parts of senior year: the senior prank.
“It seems like it would be fun, and it’s one of the last things you can do together,” senior Holly Bookout said.
Whether it be the window markers on the cars or the ‘wet floor’ sign taped to the wall, the senior prank did not go unnoticed.
“I thought it would be fun to trash the school,” three-year grad Karly Jaromack said.
Despite the commons being what most people saw, some things happened behind the scenes, some didn’t even know about. Orbeez were spread throughout the toilets and sinks in the bathrooms.
“I think some people definitely went too far, for example, the Orbeez in the toilet was kinda crazy,” Bookout said.
At one point, the administration was threatening punishment for those who put vaseline on door handles and spread other non-school-approved pranks.
“I would say punishment isn’t necessary, just making sure that they understand that it’s wrong,” senior Quinlan Egan said.
As many seniors reflect on their year, their biggest goal was to make memories. They participated in the prank to solidify their senior year memories.
“I would definitely do it again, and I encourage all upcoming seniors to do it,” Bookout said. “That with the senior celebration, where we all come together and act like little kids for one last time, was really fun and a great memory.”
