On Saturday, the following seven students earned honors at the Journalism Education Association’s national convention in Los Angeles:

Junior Haley Waughtal

Sophomore Ayanna Wright

Wright’s photo in the first-year photography category earned an Excellent, while the others were honorable mention.

“I think it’s really cool because I’ve competed in a few photo competitions on my own through Drexel University and other smaller competitions, but to get on a national level is really cool,” senior Hailey Jeffrey said. 

The students left Wednesday to sightsee and learn. 

“I have only been to a big city once and I absolutely loved L.A. The palm trees were my favorite and there was a lot of stuff to do,” Jeffrey said.
