Student Council starts off the year with its annual retreat on Friday. From 6-11 p.m., students can enjoy a taco bar before playing different games, including an escape room.

Students will also help plan the homecoming dance.

But senior executive president Whitney Crawford’s favorite part of the Student Council Retreat is “getting to know new people and making new friends as well as leaving a positive image of StuCo in the minds of everyone that attends.”

After last year’s Student Council Retreat was rained out, Crawford hopes for a more enjoyable night.

“I hope more people come in and have fun,” she said.

Any student interested in attending can come to the Student Council Retreat in the high school commons.

“The more the merrier, especially if you’re new to Derby High School, since it is a great way to start the school year off right,” Crawford said.
