The Derby boys soccer team (10-7) played Lawrence Free State (10-9-1) for a spot in Thursday’s regional finals in Manhattan.

The Panthers advanced with a 3-2 win in double overtime after senior Grant Sacket scored on a penalty kick.

Free State had a chance to take the win in the first overtime with a penalty kick of their own, but Derby junior goalkeeper AJ Howard made the save.

The two other goals came from sophomore Saul Munoz in the opening minutes of the game and senior Adrian Schrage after halftime.
