After Derby’s loss to Wichita South on Jan. 12, coach Brett Flory said there are things the team needs to work on defensively.

“I’m obviously .. not getting the buttons right with this group yet,” Flory said.

The Panthers are at McPherson today through Saturday for the midseason tournament and are  hoping to get it right.

“We have our moments when we’re a pretty good team, but it’s still a struggle. And as a coach I got to it figured out and keep working,” Flory said.

The Panthers (5-3) open play the Bishop Carroll Golden Eagles (5-4) at 3 p.m.
