Journalism student of the day: Emma Kleinschmidt

Junior Emma Kleinschmidt is in her second year as a yearbook designer. Definitely check out her year in review spread in the 2017 and the upcoming 2018 yearbooks — she had the most fun creating both of those spreads, and they are truly excellent.

Kleinschmidt first made her mark as a sophomore when she showed up to a yearbook work night with 30 tacos to share. It was an epic moment for a roomful of journalists, who all love food.

Turns out that buying that much food wasn’t a surprise for this quiet student, who has a bubbly personality. When asked what she loves to spend money on, she wrote food.

Her favorite thing about work nights? Food.

Of course.

Kleinschmidt loves to travel, her favorite childhood memory is racing BMX and her favorite song is Under Pressure by Queen.

You can usually find her hanging out with junior Amaya DeCarlo in K-11.

“We share a lot of the same interests, and we have became really close through yearbook, and we both write,” Kleinschmidt wrote.
