During the Thanksgiving break, DTV students worked on their annual film competition.
“It’s this event that takes over Thanksgiving break where DTV breaks into teams where they get a certain genre and requirements they have to fill and have to create a 3-5 minute short film,” senior Colten Baker said.
This year multiple groups have run into multiple problems within the challenge.
“It was very rewarding to finish up and very challenging since you only have a week to plan it out, so we couldn’t get any actors and some people dropped out on us in our group, so it was me and one other person,” Baker said.
With the main concern of multiple groups was the scripting.
“The real problem was that we didn’t have our script fully finished and we filmed the beginning portion while we were still finishing the script, and it all went wrong,” junior Emry Costilla said.
In the end, even with these multiple challenges and problems throughout the process, they still were able to push forward and finish their films.
“We wrote a three-person script and we were down a person so we had to change it to a two-person script and film like that,” Baker said. “I think a lot of things went wrong, but we were able to overcome them and make something we can be proud of.”
