With winter sports getting started, here’s a look at what has happened as of Dec. 11. 

Boys wrestling took on Kaupun in a dual on Dec. 3, and came out on top. Then the boys went to El dorado for the invitational and again took first. In the El Dorado invitational the boy took first. 

Girls wrestling also had the dual against Kapuan, the defending 5A state champions, but the Panthers won.  The girls went to Valley Center on Dec. 6, and took second. Seniors Brooke Downs (140), Chloe Spears (170), Analicia Lopez (190) and freshman Presley Beard took 1st in the Valley Center Invitational. 

Girls basketball won its opener against Sunrise Christian Academy on Dec. 2. On Dec. 5 the girls fell to Andover 53-48 in the KC Piper tournament. 

Boys basketball shined in a big opening win over McPherson 79-49 on Dec. 9. Junior Avant Riley had 21 points and senior Cale Cling had 16 points with six blocks. 

Boys swim and dive had a meet in Emporia on Dec. 4. The team took first overall, and junior diver Tatum Johnson qualified for state year.
