Those who chose to attend Snow Ball this year didn’t get an easy start coming back from break; the dance took place on Jan. 17, just 11 days after returning from break.

This dance warranted lots of changes.

Because of the early date, the Winter Olympics assembly wasn’t until the Friday after the dance, Jan. 23. 

Not only was the dance extremely low in attendance, but it was also extremely cold – the low that day was 23 degrees, which could be a reason for the small number of people.

Many worried about the line being long, like it was at Homecoming, especially if they had to wait in the cold.

Senior Thor Chlumsky ruled the dance floor, and Jerome Mwarema and Lexi Schott took home their royalty crowns.

“I honestly didn’t think I was going to win,” Mwarema said. “But I’m really glad that I did; the dance was very memorable.”

The assembly consisted of games pertaining to the superhero theme: Captain America Shield Catch, Hulk Smash, Spiderman Web Toss and Superman Relay.

The class of 2026 placed first in the games.

“I’m really not surprised that we won,” senior Karlie Demel said. “We’re just the best.”
