Love can be at the forefront of everyone’s minds through February’s 28 days. But for juniors Jordyn Kohr and Chase Robinson, it has been every day over the last two years.
Kohr and Robinson met at a church event in fifth grade. A nickname, “Jordano,” based on a Jordan shoes poster, sparked the beginning of conversation for them in sixth grade.
By emailing each other and then taking the same math class helped their bond become even closer.
“We really started talking cause he could help me with math, I could help him with math, he was just like, ‘hey, you know my two best friends, I’m gonna talk to you,” Kohr said.
Being able to talk to each other has been a big part of their relationship since the beginning – talking through issues, discussing common games and even music.
“Communication helps, talking about issues and different things makes it so that there’s less misunderstanding,” Robinson said.
Given all their common interests like Dungeons and Dragons, Scholar’s Bowl and history, they have grown closer together.
“I think it’s really just spending time together, and our communication skills is what kind of kept us going,” Kohr said.
