Many people have different methods for relaxing, but for senior Kayla Cooper, 3D clay art is the best option.
After enrolling in a clay class freshman year, Cooper fell in love with the art. She’s been in the classes for the last four years and has enjoyed every second of it.
“I really like creating with my mind, it’s really calming to me,” Cooper said.
Doing clay has become a big part of her life, becoming one of her favorite hobbies.
“I’m really passionate about it just because it’s really calming to me, and I think it’s really fun (I’m) really good at it,” Cooper said.
Not every piece she has made has been traditional, ranging from all different colors to shapes and sizes. Her favorite is an asymmetrical piece.
“My favorite piece I’ve ever made is an unproportional piece, so it’s like a vase and the sides kind of come out in different directions,” Cooper said.
Doing this kind of art might not be easy for everyone, but with good practice, it can become easier.
“It’s really hard at first, but don’t give up because once you figure it out, you’ll be good to go,” she said.
