“Scream 7.” What a fantastic movie. The whole “Scream” franchise is just a 10/10.
I’ve often heard that they should’ve stopped at “Scream 3.”
In my opinion, no they shouldn’t have, because you’re saying after only three times, Stab fanatics are just going to stop trying to kill Sydney? Logically, those Stab fanatics are going to be constantly trying to kill Sydney and her family.
“The Ghostfaces were a let down in this movie.”
I do somewhat agree with that because I really wanted it to be Stu Macher again.
I was really confused on who Marco was when he revealed himself because he had about one minute of screen time in the mental hospital. The other Ghostface being Jessica, Sydney’s neighbor, wasn’t that bad. I think her motive made sense and I like how it brought up her not going to New York in “Scream 6.”
I think a let down for “Scream 7” was Sam and Tara not being in it while Chad and Mindy were in it. They had their whole “core four” scene in “Scream 6,” just for them to be split up. In the end, it wouldn’t have really mattered because this movie focused on Sydney and Tatum.
Sydney naming her daughter Tatum was a nice touch, and I think it helps tie this movie back to the original.
The kill scenes in this movie were phenomenal.
The first two kills in Stu’s old house were so good. The girl hanging from the chandelier and then getting burned alive. Hannah’s death was good cinematically.
The whole bar kill scene was amazing. I think it’s a little unrealistic that Chad and Mindy survived, but I’m not complaining because I like them. Lucas’ death was the most sad, especially when you find out that his mom was the one who killed him. I think his death was creative with the drink fountain.
“Burning down Stu’s old house made no sense.”
It does make no sense in the movie itself, I believe it’s more symbolic. I think it means they’re leaving the past behind and starting a new Scream era with Tatum.
