The billionaires of social media are billionaires because they feed into the world’s destroyed doom-scolling mental state. But why do they do that? Isn’t that kind of sick?
Money, money, money.
They don’t care about how their short-form content destroys attention spans and lets people sink further into their bed of despair and isolation. They just want billions of dollars to sit in their bank accounts to make people think they’re cool or something.
Don’t even get me started on how insanely inhumane billionaires and millionaires are with their money.
According to the World Economic Forum, World Food Programme Chief David Beasley says that 2% of Elon Musk’s wealth could end world hunger.
But what does he spend it on instead?
Expensive cars, private jets, and buying another social media platform that’s killing people. So, nothing good or ethical, obviously.
Most of these money-makers support President Trump, due to his whole ‘make the rich richer’ mentality with taxes.
According to UC San Diego Today, 43% of Americans doom-scroll every day.
This is a problem for every age group, not just teens.
So here’s my solution.
Platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and X should have users share their age group and assign a screen-time limit according to that.
I’m thinking one to three hours a day.
There could also be an option for people who want to take an extra step and set their own screen time, with a limit of three hours, just to make people feel like they have a say in it so they don’t feel like deleting the app.
Yes, this would make the money pigs lose some of it. Boo-hoo.
But do you know how much more respected they would be? They could be seen as mental health advocates instead of heartless billionaires.
But at the end of the day, I don’t even think they would care about that. Because it’s all about money.
