On the first day of school, the seniors get all dressed up and meet at the football field for senior sunrise. With 277 days until graduation — nobody could imagine how fast that time would go.
Fast forward 270 days to senior sunset, and nobody believed that graduation was only a week away.
“It flew by, no question,” senior Parker Mosley said. “I’m glad it’s almost over, but I didn’t think it would go by that quickly.”
Although seniors are excited to graduate, senior sunset is still bittersweet.
“It’s one of the last times everyone is together,” senior Jordyn Novak said. “It’s good to rekindle friendships from growing up, but also see all your friends together.”
The feeling of senior sunrise is more exciting than sad, but most seniors believe that sunset was more fun and impactful.
“During the year I made so many more friends and it was fun to spend the sunset with different people than just my best friends,” Novak said.
Many seniors did the most they could to make the year as memorable as they could, but senior sunset served as a relaxing time to have one last hangout.
“It was kind of nice to just be able to relax and see everyone,” Rowan Ake said. “After a tough but fun year, it was good to have the opportunity to slow down one last time.”
While graduation can be a scary time for seniors, senior sunset gives seniors a chance to just be kids together again.
