“What should we do for senior prank?”
It’s a question that occurs every year, but the answer always ends up being the same due to restrictions from administration — trashing the commons.
The Class of 2026 however, might have changed that for classes to come.
On top of trashing the front lawn and commons, some seniors added more to what it normally is.
Vaseline was applied to many of the door handles, glitter was thrown around – even though admin said glitter was prohibited – Orbeez were put in sinks and toilets and lastly, “Call me for sex,” was written in the bathroom with a phone number along with it.
“Not everyone should get in trouble,” custodian Kayla Hawkins said. “It’s a group effort, but for the kids that did do the extra things, they should face some sort of disciplinary action. I know they have talked about taking away diplomas, but that is just what I’ve heard.”
As a custodian, Hawkins is in charge of making sure that the school stays clean. Hawkins didn’t mind the senior prank, but she wishes that more people would have helped clean it up afterwards.
As for the students that did the extra damage, principals and other admin are still trying to identify the people who did it.
“We have some ideas on who it might’ve been, but I don’t think I can confirm for sure that they have been identified,” senior principal Cheryl Parks said. “I would say if the individuals are identified, that that would be a conversation to have with them. Just letting them know that ‘hey maybe they could have ruined it for people in the future.’”
