As someone who has always loved the Chick-fil-a sandwich, I was really interested when Popeyes released their chicken sandwich last spring. For the first few weeks, it was always sold out. Finally, I was able to try one, and it was the best chicken sandwich I have ever had.

In January, McDonalds released a new version of its chicken sandwich to compete in the battle for sandwich supremacy. I decided to see how it stacks up.

The first thing I noticed was that the sandwich looked far more appealing than it tastes. When you bite into the sandwich you immediately know that you are eating McDonalds because of the processed food taste. However, the pickles and the crunchy breading make up for the poor taste to an extent.

It could have used some sauce because it was pretty dry. It came with only pickles on it like the Chick-fil-a sandwich.

Size-wise it doesn’t come close to what you get from Popeyes. It’s not even as big as Chick-fil-A’s sandwich.

In a pinch, it is a decent sandwich, but in my opinion the new McDonald’s Crispy Chicken Sandwich is McMediocre at best.
