How long have you been playing volleyball?
“I started playing volleyball when I was in 7th grade at DNMS – I started playing club ball after my sophomore season.”
What do you think sets volleyball apart from other sports?
“I think the feeling of being so close in a match and going back and forth then getting a solo block to win the game or having an amazing hit set volleyball apart from other sports.”
How do you stay mentally focused throughout an entire match?
“Staying mentally focused throughout a match can be difficult sometimes especially when there’s people in the crowd chanting things or teams playing on the other court but you just really have to focus on each ball and have teammates that can talk to you and tell you to focus.”
How have you seen yourself grow and develop as a player over the years?
“Over the past couple years I’ve seen myself develop into a more mature player. I’m less about playing games in practice and more about wanting to do the hard things to get better as a team.
Do you have any goals for your future as a volleyball player?
“I hope to play volleyball in college. I have an offer from Bethel University but ideally I want to go to Newman university. I have an official visit to Newman next Wednesday.”
