The Derby High School journalism program is holding an athletic shoe drive to give back to the Derby and Wichita students in need.

Athletic shoes for any sport in any size are welcome.

The shoes will be given to students at Derby public schools and others in the Wichita-area.

Those at the high school who would like to donate new or gently-used athletic shoes can place  them in the bin inside the main entrance of the school. There is also a box near K-11.

The final day to donate is Sept. 28, and there will be a bin at the gate for those attending the Homecoming football game.
