Panther personality: Denton graduates early

The standard four years of high school was just too much for senior TJ Denton. He planned to graduate in December, a semester earlier than most students.

Fitting 25 credits in a shorter time was not an easy journey, but the Panther Learning Center opened his eyes to better opportunities.

“I was doing credit recovery in the PLC, and they offered me an option to do Acellus so I can graduate in December,” Denton

There are pros and cons for early graduates, but Denton only saw the positives.

“I only go to school for three days a week. Walking across the stage was never a big thing for me – it saves embarrassment,” Denton explained.

He plans on using his time off to focus on his future.

“It was a better choice for my career,” Denton said. “I’m going to go into aviation maintenance at Textron Aviation here in Kansas.”
